Seasonal Emphasis: God deserves our praise
Today's General theme: The church honors God by humble obedience
Mood of Service: Determined/bold
SERVICE NOTES: Again, as last week, we are reminded that the proper worship of God involves more than just coming to church once a week, it involves every facet of our existence. Today's service teaches us that humble obedience to God is the hallmark of a child of God. We are constantly being confronted with choices to do what we think best, or what someone else advises us, but as children of God, our concern is to trust God and do things His way. If we have so little confidence in Him that we ignore His will in order to get our way, how can we claim to have faith? The child of God exalts God's will in his or her life, even when it seems counter to personal desires. (www.pericope.org)
