Seasonal Emphasis: God deserves our praise
Today's General Theme: God forgives!
Mood of service: Joyful/trusting/encouraging
Notes: Where love is present, forgiveness is freely and joyfully offered to the penitent. Because God loves us so much, He delights in forgiving those who turn to Him for mercy. Last week's service emphasized the gracious aspect of God's love, today the emphasis is on His joy in forgiving. We are not to think of Him as an angry vindictive judge who is anxious to punish, rather, He is a loving father Who wants nothing more than for His wayward children to come home again and receive His blessing.
